What BeatQue is
BeatQue lets guests at an event send song requests to the performer, and, when the performer allows it, leave a tip. BeatQue is a tool for the performer. The performer decides what gets played.
For guests
- A request is a request, not a booking. The performer may play it, play it later, or not play it.
- One request at a time per guest, and a short gap between requests, so everyone gets a turn.
- Messages must be friendly. No links, contact details, abuse or threats. We screen messages, and the performer can decline anything.
- Event links work for the event only and stop working when it ends.
Tips
Tipping is not switched on yet. When it is: a tip is a gift to the performer. It never buys priority in the queue and never guarantees a song, and you will be told that before you pay. Tips are processed by Stripe; BeatQue keeps a platform fee from each tip and the performer receives the rest. Refunds and disputes will be described here before tipping launches.
For performers
- You must be at least 18 and able to receive payments in your country when tipping launches.
- You are responsible for what you show guests: your name, your song list, your event details, and the rights to perform the music you play.
- Guest names and messages are shown to you for the event. Don’t publish or reuse them without the guest’s consent.
- Don’t use BeatQue to collect guests’ contact details or to send them anywhere else.
- We may suspend an account that is used to harass guests, break the law, or abuse the service.
The service
BeatQue is provided as is. We work hard to keep it up during events, but we can’t promise it will never fail, and we are not liable for lost tips, lost requests or a quiet dance floor. Where the law allows, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the previous month.
Contact
Questions, data requests and complaints: see the contact details published on the site once we launch, or reach us through the performer sign-in email.
