Who we are

BeatQue is a song-request service for live performers, run from Canada and used worldwide. This page explains what we collect from guests and from performers, and what we do with it.

If you are a guest at an event

You don’t need an account, and we don’t ask for your email address or phone number.

  • A session cookie. When you open an event link we set one cookie for that event so your phone can see the status of your own request. It contains a random id, the event code and a timestamp, nothing about you. It expires after 24 hours.
  • What you type. The song you ask for, and the optional first name and message you add. The performer running the event sees these. Other guests see only song titles and whether a song is waiting, up next or playing, never names or messages.
  • Your IP address, briefly, to limit how many requests one connection can send. We don’t build a profile from it.
  • A bot check (Cloudflare Turnstile) runs when you send a request. Cloudflare’s own privacy notice covers that check.

Requests are kept with the event so the performer can see what was played. We don’t sell or share guest data, and we don’t use it for advertising.

If you are a performer

  • Account. Your email address, used to sign you in by link, or your Google or Apple account if you choose those. Our sign-in provider is Supabase.
  • Profile. The name, role and Instagram handle you choose to show guests. These are public on your event pages.
  • Events, song lists and requests. Visible to you only, except the public parts of an event page while the event is live.

Tips and payments

Tipping is not switched on yet. When it is, payments will be handled by Stripe. BeatQue will never see or store card numbers. Stripe’s privacy notice covers what Stripe collects. We will update this page before tipping launches.

Where data lives and who helps us

  • Database and sign-in: Supabase (hosted in the Americas region).
  • Website hosting: Vercel.
  • Bot check: Cloudflare Turnstile.

How long we keep things

Guest session cookies expire after 24 hours. Event requests stay with the performer’s event so they can look back at the night; a performer can delete their whole account from the profile page, which removes their events and every request with them.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and complain to your local privacy regulator. We follow Canada’s PIPEDA and, where it applies, the GDPR. Contact details are on the terms page.

Changes

We’ll update the date at the top when this page changes. Material changes will be announced on the site.
